Dextersoft

Dextersoft vs Odoo

Odoo is the default “modular ERP” answer in many African RFPs. Dextersoft is also modular, but it is multi-tenant SaaS: you do not stand up a Frappe-style or PostgreSQL stack, and you do not buy users in bulk to unlock accounting. The comparison is platform-and-partner versus licensed company apps.

What Odoo is

Questions people ask

Is Dextersoft an Odoo fork?

No. It is a separate multi-tenant Laravel product with its own catalog. You license apps per company; you do not install Odoo modules.

Which is cheaper?

Odoo Online looks cheap until users and implementation land. Dextersoft publishes per-app access (and some usage) fees. Total cost depends on headcount versus how many apps you actually license.

Can Odoo do ZIMRA?

Only with custom work or third-party modules. Dextersoft ships a Zimra app aimed at FDMS devices and receipts.
